Due to an increase in the number of cases in Bury and schools in particular, the Local Authority with Public Health have issued a letter for parents with new guidance. The main change for us is that family members who have a positive test in the household should take a lateral flow test every day for 10 days before they come to school/go to work. The guidance already asks family members to go for a PCR test if a family member has covid symptoms and is getting a PCR test because of them.
Lateral flow tests can be collected for free from chemists. Please do follow this advice and help to keep our school safe and healthy.
From the letter:
LFD Testing for Household Contacts
Since August, adults who are double vaccinated and children do not need to self-isolate if they live with someone who has COVID-19. We are asking all students and staff members who live with someone who has COVID-19 to do daily lateral flow tests (LFD test) before coming into school (unless exempt-see below). Pupils should start this testing from the day their household member either became unwell with COVID-19 or tested positive if they did not have symptoms and continue this for 10 days.
