Mrs Shivnan-Taylor has been working with her Art Club to produce pictures to send off to and hopefully be made into banners to be paraded in London as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.
The Arts Council, British Council and Thames River Trust are working together to collect artworks from children in this country and across the world, to be printed on flags and paraded as part of the Platinum Jubilee Pageant. The theme for the artworks is the river and environmental themes.
Information form the project:
'In 2022, River of Hope forms a central part of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The Queen has always shown a great love and respect for the natural environment. We hope that this project will encourage young people around the world to think about the importance of safeguarding the future of their own natural environment.
Two hundred of the artworks created will be printed onto silk flags and will be processed as part of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant. In addition, we will be hosting an online gallery to display all the artworks we receive from around the world.'
You can see the combined artwork below, Mrs Shivnan-Taylor has just sent it off digitally- we really hope it will be selected to be printed on a banner!
