Friends of Christ Church
Every parent of a pupil currently attending the school is automatically a member of the Friends of Christ Church. Each year we are fortunate to have a number of parents who form a representative committee to give their time and expertise supporting the school in a variety of ways. Events and activities are planned that not only provide additional funds for the school but also play a vital role in strengthening the links between the home, the school and the wider community.
If you would like information about Friends or have any ideas to help us raise money you can contact us by email email@example.com or via the School Office.
WOW! Look at our refurbished outdoor area in Key Stage 1!
Hopefully all of the KS1 classes can make full use of this amazing area and enjoy being outside in a safe and fun environment.
Friends wouldn't be able to help out with such fantastic improvements to our school if it wasn't for the continued support of our whole school family. Your generosity allows Friends to make a huge difference for all of the children at Christ Church. Thank you!
We were very lucky to have some new additions in school during the month of May.
Friends funded the arrival of ducklings eggs, which came complete with an incubator and a home for them to be in once hatched. It was a fantastic experience for not only the children in Nursery and Reception but for the whole school. All classes managed to visit the chicks, who were incredibly cute!
Friends have purchased a cricket kit for use by both our boys and girls teams.
It has been fantastic to see our teams representing our school looking very smart and ready to play!
The boys have played in several matches against local schools, their most recent being the semi-final of an inter-school competition. They successfully made it through to the final to represent Bury at Lancashire!
The girls have been great ambassadors for Christ Church too. They also competed in an inter-school competition, winning 3 out of 4 games but missed out on going through to the final on run difference. Well done, girls!
School Disco and Ice Lolly Sale
All of the proceeds from the School Disco (£307) and the Ice Lolly Sale (£120) were added to the school collection for the victims of the Manchester Arena attack. The ice lollies were very generously paid for by a staff member at the Aldi store in Bury, when he heard that we were donating to the fund. Thank you to everyone who supported the disco and the sale.
Thank you to everyone who supported our Easter Bingo event and donated Easter Eggs or chocolate. Your generosity meant that there were many prizes to be won either through the bingo games or the raffle.
We raised a fantastic £290!
Friends were also able to donate all of the prizes for the School's Decorated Egg Competition and for the Easter Raffle.
